Adding a PineScript indicator in TradingView

From copying the code in your Library to an active indicator on the chart — in under 60 seconds.

PineScript indicators are not installed in TradingView like an app; the code is pasted into the Pine Editor and saved there. Here's how:

1

Copy the code from the Library

Log in to TMB Invest, go to /library/ and open your PineScript product. There you'll find either the code to copy directly or a .pinefile to download. Copy all of the code to the clipboard.

2

Open TradingView & activate the Pine Editor

Go to tradingview.com and open a chart. At the bottom of the screen you'll see tabs such as "Stock Screener" and "Strategy Tester". Click "Pine Editor". If it isn't visible: right-click the bottom tab bar → tick "Pine Editor".

3

Paste code

In the Pine Editor: delete the existing default code completely (Ctrl+A → Del). Then paste the TMB code from the clipboard (Ctrl+V).

4

Save

At the top of the Pine Editor: click "Save". TradingView asks for a name — enter e.g. the indicator name. The indicator is now saved in your TradingView account.

5

Apply to chart

Directly to the right of "Save" there is the "Add to chart" button. Click it — the indicator is loaded onto the current chart immediately and you see it live.

Customise the indicator

Click the gear icon next to the indicator name in the top left of the chart. There you can:

  • Inputs — adjust period length, thresholds, symbols
  • Style — colours, line widths, visibility of the individual plots
  • Visibility — on which timeframes the indicator is displayed
TradingView Free vs. Paid: In the free version you can only have 2 indicators on a chart at the same time. With Pro / Premium it's 5/10/25. If you get an error on "Add to chart": one of your other indicators has to go first.
